Meet Your Instructor
Lori Ames
Owner / Pilates & MELT Instructor
Lori has always been intrigued by the anatomy and physiology of the human body. She began her study of the body internally, through radiographic imaging, working in X-ray, CT and MRI for 15 years. When she was introduced to Pilates in 2003 her fascination with the movement of the body began.
She had tried many forms of exercise throughout the years, but the combination of strengthening, stretching and enhanced body awareness made Pilates a perfect fit for her active lifestyle. It soon became her favorite way to relieve the stress of a busy, chaotic job and her fascination quickly morphed into a new career.
Lori received her Pilates training in both mat and apparatus through ‘Momentum Studio’, in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has been teaching since 2005.
She has also trained in The MELT Method, completing the Hand and Foot training, Instructor training Level 1 and 2, Pilates on MELT, and Neurostrength Level 1 and 2.
She enjoys hiking, biking, camping and chasing after her 5 very active grandchildren. She believes Pilates and the MELT Method have enhanced her ability to perform these activities and that they are essential to keeping her strong, flexible and fit for many years to come.
